Experiencing Traditional Cuisine Through Vespa Adventures

Food is more than sustenance—it’s a gateway to culture. At Vespa Adventures, exploring Vietnam’s traditional cuisine is central to every tour, connecting guests to local traditions, families, and flavors that make this country unforgettable.

Dining with a Local Family: Hoi An’s Hot Pot Tradition

In Hoi An, the riverside hot pot meal is more than food; it’s an experience. Gathered around a simmering pot, guests share stories, laughter, and flavors. Each scoop of fresh seafood and vegetables into the broth reflects the communal spirit of Vietnamese dining. "Eating hot pot here is like being welcomed into the family," I often tell our guests. The warmth of this meal captures the essence of traditional cuisine—a shared experience steeped in love and hospitality.

Hands-On Cooking: Banh Khot in the Mekong DeltaDown south in the Mekong Delta, we roll up our sleeves for banh khot, Vietnam’s beloved crispy pancakes. Guests not only taste this dish but participate in its creation, flipping these coconut-infused delights alongside local cooks. It’s a hands-on experience where laughter and learning blend beautifully. Sharing these creations together afterward makes the meal even more special.

Saigon’s Feast: Celebrating Vietnam’s Flavors

The tour ends with a final feast in Saigon, featuring dishes like canh chua (sour soup) and thit kho (caramelized pork). These meals reflect the city’s culinary diversity, blending regional flavors into unforgettable dishes. Sitting with a local family, sharing stories, and tasting these carefully prepared dishes encapsulates everything Vespa Adventures is about—connection, tradition, and celebration.
